Schoolchildren in Irish language protest

Around 30 children have gathered outside the European Commission offices in Dublin to call for Irish to be recognised as an official EU language.

Ireland is the only EU member state whose national tongue is not included in a list of 20 official languages due to be recognised by the EU in May.
