The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has admitted that he asked Roscommon County Council to postpone legal action it was taking against the owner and operators of an unauthorised quarry near Athleague.

Newspaper reports this morning said Mr Ahern asked a council official to suspend proceedings
