Wife and son of 'Mad Dog' on drugs charges

The wife and son of Loyalist terrorist Johnny “Mad Dog” Adair have been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs, it was confirmed today.

Gina and Jonathan Adair, aged 37 and 19, were arrested yesterday following a three-month operation by Greater Manchester Police in England.

They were due to appear before Bolton Magistrates this morning charged with conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine.

Jonathan Adair was also charged with supplying class A drugs.

He was arrested yesterday morning at a hotel off the M61 motorway in Anderton, near Chorley. His mother was arrested yesterday evening. Both spent the night in custody.

Gina Adair and her family fled to Bolton earlier this year to escape a bloody Loyalist feud.

Jonny “Mad Dog” Adair, who is in prison in the North, was commander of the Ulster Defence Association’s C-Company.

Four other people from Bolton, including a 13-year-old boy, will appear alongside the Adairs on drug charges.

They are Benjamin Dowie, 22, William Truesdale, 40, both from Horwich, and Karen Truesdale, 32, from Halliwell.

The boy, who cannot be named, comes from Halliwell.
