Sophie Toscan du Plantier’s family arrive in Cork for anniversary
The family of Sophie Touscan De Plantier has arrived in Ireland today to mark the anniversary of her death.
The film producer was murdered at her West Cork holiday home in December 1996.
Her family will attend a special ceremony at a church in Skull as they do every December.
This year’s anniversary is dominated by the ongoing libel trial at Cork Circuit Court surrounding her murder.
English journalist, Ian Bailey, is suing several newspapers for press coverage of the murder, which he says defamed him.
Sophie’s family will be briefed of the ongoing court case today after the church service in Skull.
Tonight they will stay in the house where Sophie was murdered.
