The Polish ambassador to Ireland says that Irish farmers have nothing to fear from Poland's accession to the European Union.

Witold Sobkow says that although both countries have a heavy reliance on agricultural trade, the two will complement rather than compete with each other.

While Irish exports are mainly of meat and dairy produce, Poland concentrates on different breeds of animals as well as fruit, fruit juices and berry crops.
