Cox urges compromise on proposed EU constitution

European Parliament president Pat Cox has urged the leaders of EU member states to reach a compromise agreement on the proposed EU Constitution during talks in Brussels this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the talks, Mr Cox urged individuals to overcome national differences and agree the text of the constitution "in a spirit of European compromise".
