Ahern announces €140m broadband expansion plan

Communications Minister Dermot Ahern has announced plans to spend €140m bringing broadband technology to 80 more towns throughout Ireland.

The minister said that the money would be spent between now and 2007 in towns with populations greater than 1,500 that have not already been connected to the broadband network.
