Minister announces €1m Gaeltacht pier grant

The Minister for Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs has announced a grant of over €1million for Cill Chiarain pier in the Galway Gaeltacht.

As part of the Department's strategy, the intention is to develop a number of piers in each Gaeltacht.

Announcing the grant, Minister Eamon O’Cuiv said the project is an important one for Connemara as it will greatly improve tourism and employment in the area.
