Taoiseach to address UN information society summit

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is due to travel to Geneva today to address the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society.

Mr Ahern’s speech is expected to focus on how information technology can benefit the global community.

Ireland has embraced information technology in the past decade and now has one of the highest rates of computer usage in the world.
