UN to locate two new agencies in Ireland
The United Nations has announced plans to locate two of its agencies in Ireland next year.
The body said it planned to establish offices in Dublin for the Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative and the Global e-Policy and Resource Network.
Both schemes are part of a UN programme to introduce new learning initiatives and technology to the developing world. The offices will employ around 30 staff.
The announcement of the plan to set up in Ireland was made at the World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva last night.
