Intravenous drug users warned about Hepatitis C risk
Health Minister Micheál Martin has launched an informational booklet aimed at informing intravenous drug users about the risks of contracting Hepatitis C.
Mr Martin also announced today that the Drug Treatment Centre Board was planning a pilot scheme to treat drug users for Hepatitis C alongside its methadone treatment project.
An estimated four in five intravenous drug users in Ireland suffer from the virus.
