FSA seeks upgrading of laboratories

The Food Safety Authority has called for all laboratories which test food in Ireland to be brought up to international standards.

The authority said today that all food-testing labs should be accredited with the ISO standard by 2005.

Spokesperson Ann Westby said such a move would help increase consumer confidence in the safety of their food.
