Teagasc predicts fall in farm profits next year

The Government’s agriculture development agency has predicted a fall in farm profits next year.

The Government’s agriculture development agency has predicted a fall in farm profits next year.

Teagasc said a survey it carried out found that beef and tillage farmers were experiencing minor increases in their profits, but other sectors including dairying, sheep and pig production were suffering.

Spokesman Liam Connolly said he believed the situation would not improve significantly next year.
