Efforts underway to rescue kidnapped Irish tourist

The Department of Foreign Affairs will remain in contact with the Iranian authorities today as efforts continue to rescue an Irish tourist kidnapped by drug smugglers in the Islamic nation.

The man was abducted yesterday while on a cycling tour with two Germans near the Iranian-Pakistani border, a notorious area for drug trafficking.
