The justice commission of CORI - the Conference Of Religious in Ireland - claims that the Minister for Finance could have directed more money in his budget to tackling the country's social problems.

CORI spokesman Fr Sean Healy says that Charlie McCreevy could have borrowed for infrastructure and been more generous to those living in poverty.
