Budget may cause increase in house prices

House prices could be set to rise further as a result of Charlie McCreevy's budget.

He has announced that almost 11,000 public servants will move out of Dublin.

It is feared that the move could put massive pressure on the housing market in areas where de-centralisation will occur.

Property consultants Richard Ellis Gunne have described the announcement as "overly ambitious".
