British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, is to meet the leaders of the North's main parties before Christmas.

No date for the talks has yet been set, but they are likely to take place in London.

Meanwhile, Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has held talks with SDLP leader Mark Durkan today.

And President Bush's special envoy to the North, Richard Haas, is due in Belfast today to begin talks with the four main parties.

During his two-day visit, he will discuss the implications of last week's Assembly election results and the prospects of restoring the power-sharing administration.
