The employers of a juror in the Kieran Keane murder trial have been ordered to continue to pay his wages for the duration of the trial.

Officials from the company appeared at Cloverhill Court, in Dublin, where the instruction was given by Justice Paul Carney.

It had come to the judge’s notice that one of his jurors, who must remain anonymous for legal reasons, may have been discriminated against.

Employers are legally obliged to pay all money owed to jurors, including bonuses and overtime that would have accrued during the period of the jury duty.
