FF backbenchers opposed to CES cuts

Fianna Fáil backbenchers are tonight expected to voice their opposition to moves by the Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy, to implement cuts in the Community Employment Scheme.

The backbenchers are angry at Minister McCreevy's pointed refusal to reconsider the cuts, claiming their views have been ignored.

They are expected to make their views known at a pre-budget parliamentary party meeting later this evening.
