Foreign mothers accounted for 18%, or one in six, of all new babies born at the country’s National Maternity hospital last year.

Foreign mothers accounted for 18%, or one in six, of all new babies born at the country’s National Maternity hospital last year.

15% of all births were to mothers from outside the European Union according to details released in the hospital's annual report.

The Master of the hospital pointed out that the majority of the mothers are not asylum seekers or refugees.
