Bus and rail fares to rise by 4%

Bus and rail fares are set to rise by 4% from January 1.

The Minister for Transport, Seamus Brennan, last night rejected an application by CIE for a fare hike of 9%, but instead gave the green light to the 4% increase. It will be automatically introduced in the new year.
