The Ulster Unionist Party leader, David Trimble, is expected to face a leadership challenge at the first meeting of his party’s newly-elected Assembly group.
The meeting, to be held at Stormont this morning, is expected to be a stormy one but Mr Trimble said he is confident he can defend his position, saying the election results weren’t as bad as some had feared.
