Irish language schools perform better

A new survey published today shows students in Irish language schools are performing better than children in standard schools.

A quarter of the 30 top performing schools in the country are Gaelscoileanna, even though they only make up 4% of the country's secondary schools.

The schools were rated on how many students they sent on to third level education.

Colm Dulach of the Gaelscoileanna organisation says students in Irish schools are more motivated.
