Calls for McCreevy to reverse community job cuts
Opposition parties have rounded on the Minister for Finance, calling on him to reverse cuts to community employment schemes.
Over 5,000 community employment jobs are to be axed in the Budget, despite opposition to the move by Fianna Fáil backbenchers.
In the Dail today, Labour leader Pat Rabbitte called for a debate on the matter.
He wants the cuts to be reversed.
However, despite opposition, a vote by Fianna Fail backbenchers went against debating the future of community employment.
