Ahern completes tour of EU states

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern was today completing a tour of European Union states ahead of Ireland’s six-month presidency of the community, with visits to Denmark and Latvia.

As he prepared for talks with the leaders of both countries, Mr Ahern described forthcoming discussion on the future of Europe as among the most important in which Ireland would ever be involved.
