Road safety campaigners today are expressing their disappointment that speed cameras which were due to be placed along Ireland's most dangerous roads will now not be in place until next year.

A legal problem relating to the operation of the cameras has arisen. Minister Brennan wants to close the loophole that could leave speeding fines open to a legal challenge.
