Motorcycle deaths up 10% on last year

Fifty-one people have been killed in motorbike accidents on Irish roads, up 10% on last year.

The figures, contained in the first annual penalty points report, have led Transport Minister Seamus Brennan to pledge the introduction of compulsory safety training for all motorcyclists.
