Security fears scupper Ireland's EU meetings

There will be no European Council meetings held in Ireland when it assumes the EU presidency next year because of the security “nightmare”, Bertie Ahern said today.

The Taoiseach said he had decided to hold what he described as “super meetings” in Brussels.
