Ahern: Govt not neglecting social welfare

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has rejected accusations that his Government is neglecting people on social welfare in Ireland.

Speaking in the Dáil today, Labour Party leader Pat Rabbitte slammed the €58m worth of social welfare cuts contained in last week’s Book of Estimates.
