Michael Ring: Rent allowance proposals unworkable

Fine Gael has hit out at stringent Government proposals on rent allowance.

Under the proposals, which were published in the Estimates during the week, applicants will have to prove they have spent six months in rented accommodation before they can apply for the allowance.
