Taoiseach defends Smith's health comments

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has spoken from Rome about Defence Minister Michael Smith's public attack on the radical health reforms proposed within the Hanly Report.

Mr Ahern said Minister Smith's point was that "local considerations have to be taken into account" but while people have to listen to local views, it "does not change the fact that we have to bring in these reforms".
