Taoiseach to meet Hungarian PM in Budapest

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to meet Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Medgyessy in Budapest today.

The meeting is part of a series of talks between Mr Ahern and other European leaders ahead of Ireland’s EU presidency on January 1.

The Taoiseach also met Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in Rome last night.

Mr Ahern said he would also use his trip to Budapest today to promote trade between Ireland and Hungary.
