Teen due in court in connection with body find

A teenage boy was appearing in court tonight following death of a 14-year old whose body was found in a field.

Darragh Conroy from Mountmellick, Co Laois was found dead by police last night having been struck several times on the back of his head.

A 15-year-old third-year student from Mountmellick has been in Garda custody since being arrested at his home in the early hours of this morning.

He is due to appear before Carlow District Court this evening charged under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
