Omagh bomb victim endorses SDLP election campaign

A woman who was injured in the 1998 Omagh bombing has called on the Northern electorate to vote for the SDLP in the Assembly election later this month.

Donna Marie McGillion, who suffered horrific burns in the Omagh bombing, told a press conference this morning that she endorsed the SDLP’s health policies, which include the retention of Omagh hospital.

Ms McGillion said that, if the hospital was closed, she would have to travel to Belfast for continuing treatment on her injuries.

She said she also believed the SDLP was the most supportive of the peace process among all the Northern parties.
