The flu vaccines issued by Ireland’s health boards are only partially effective against a new strain of flu, according to reports this morning.

The vaccine is mainly targeted at the so-called Panama strain of Influenza A, but is only 40% effective against the so-called Fijian strain, which has killed six children in the United Kingdom so far this year and has already arrived in Ireland.
