LUAS journeys from Red Cow to Tallaght in debut run

The LUAS tram system is up and running in Dublin.

The first tram to travel along a section of track on a public roadway went from the Red Cow Roundabout to the Square in Tallaght earlier today.

On board the tram were technical staff and assessors, observing the journey for the Railway Procurement Agency.

Seamus Brennan, the Minister for Transport, will visit Tallaght at lunchtime to inspect the process.
