Dublin-Kildare upgrade subject to Govt funding

Iarnród Éireann says plans to upgrade the Dublin - Kildare railway line are subject to securing funds from the Government.

Iarnród Éireann says plans to upgrade the Dublin - Kildare railway line are subject to securing funds from the Government.

The company wants to spend €340m providing two extra tracks between Heuston Station and Hazelhatch.

It is hoped the move will ease overcrowding on the line serving the country's fastest-growing county.
