VFI withdraws threat to withhold VAT payments

The Vintners Federation of Ireland has withdrawn its threat to withhold VAT payments from the Exchequer because of the Government’s plan to ban smoking in pubs.

The VFI issued the threat last month as part of its campaign of opposition to the proposed ban.
