EU commissioner to view progress on Dublin Port Tunnel

EU Transport Commissioner Loyola De Palacio is due to visit the Dublin Port Tunnel later this morning to assess the progress being made on its construction.

Ms de Palacio will also be briefed later today on the work done to date on the LUAS light rail project.

She is expected to question Transport Minister Seamus Brennan about delays in construction and overruns in costs on both schemes.

The Transport Commissioner is currently on an official visit to Dublin to view some of the infrastructure projects being undertaken by the Government.
