Garda attacked during Limerick chase

A garda has been hospitalised in Limerick after he suffered head and face injuries in an attack in the Dublin Road area of the city.

The officer was attacked while chasing a man on foot at around 1am. He was taken to hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition.
