The Human Rights Commission has said it is seriously concerned about the issue of letters warning up to 700 foreign parents of Irish-born children that they face deportation.

The recipients - mainly asylum-seekers and immigrants - have been given 15 days to argue why they should be allowed to stay in Ireland.
