Adams says McConville funeral wherever family want

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has denied reports republicans are pressuring Jean McConville's family not to have the murdered woman's funeral procession on Belfast's Falls Road.

An article in yesterday's Sunday Independent claimed the family of murdered mother-of-10, Jean McConville, were changing plans to bury their mother in Milltown Cemetery in West Belfast after IRA leaders allegedly told them to move the funeral procession away from Gerry Adams constituency.

Jean McConville was abducted and killed by the IRA in 1972.

Mr Adams says her death was a 'very sad part' of Irish history, and that her family should have her funeral wherever they wish.
