Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble says he is confident the UUP will remain the largest unionist party after northern assembly elections take place on November 26.

Speaking today he said Ian Paisley's hard-line Democratic Unionist Party would not gain any ground despite last week's failure to agree a satisfactory deal on IRA decommissioning.
