Call for EU body to cut road accidents

Road safety organisations across Europe are demanding the creation of a new EU body to tackle the annual toll of road deaths and injuries.

An average of 40,000 fatalities and 1.3 million injuries occur on roads across Europe each year, costing about €115bn.
