Future of film industry tax breaks up for discussion

Tax breaks for the Irish film industry are being discussed at public hearings next month.

The Oireachtas Finance Committee is to fully investigate the tax breaks, which are likely to be abolished in the budget.

Representatives of the Irish Film Industry, Revenue Commissioners, Department of Finance and Department of Tourism will all attend the hearings.

The committee will then draw up a report, which will be presented, to the Dáil and Seanad. The Government will be asked to investigate its findings before finalising the budget.
