A group of 50 Irish aid workers is due to depart for Belarus today to undertake a number of building projects designed to help people in poor areas affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

The trip was organised by the Chernoby Children’s Project, which has arranged similar aid missions for the past five consecutive years.
