Dr Laurence Ryan, the former bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, has died at the age of 72.

Dr Laurence Ryan, the former bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, has died at the age of 72.

Bishop Ryan succeeded the late Patrick Lennon in December 1987 and resigned in August 2002.
