Welfare recipients get Christmas bonus

The Government has confirmed that social welfare recipients will receive a 100% bonus payment this Christmas.

There had been concerns that the bonus would be cut due to reduced exchequer funds.

Mary Coughlan, the Minister for Social and Family Affairs, announced today that the full payment would be forthcoming at the beginning of December.
