IRA seeks exemption from assets probe

The IRA is reported to be seeking recognition as a legitimate army, thereby exempting themselves from laws allowing their assets to be seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau and its British equivalent.

It is believed that the IRA holds significant wealth in offshore accounts.
