Vintners Federation of Ireland: Ruane retracts statement

Christy Ruane, the Galway VFI representative, has confirmed he has retracted his statement that Minister Fahy said he made a commitment to local Galway publicans to support them in their opposition to the smoking ban.

Ruane said the statement was made in the heat of the moment and he now acknowledges that Minster Fahy did not make any such commitment.
